My Experience at Jury Duty

If you are an American Citizen you know exactly what it feels like to receive that letter in the mail stating, "You are summoned to Jury Duty." Whether, you're excited or not, the timing is always inconvenient. On September 22, 2009 I, for the first time, went to the Broward County Courthouse to fulfill my duty as a juror.

After waiting for about two hours, freezing to death and sleeping straight up with my wry eye open, I was called to a specific judge. Then, after about another hour, close to lunch time mind you, I was called into the court room. Without going into specifics, we were basically asked to give some information about each of us (the jurors). One of the questions was where we were employed. Here was my response:

"I work with the family business," I stated.
"And what may that be?" The Judge asked me.
"My father invented a new company called PetPeePee," I answered.
"Oh? And what exactly is that?? That sounds interesting!" The Judge replied.
At this point I looked around the room to see the faces of the attorneys and the other jurors, and just like the Judge, they were all interested!
"Well, my Father invented a new system that guarantees to permanently remove dog and cat urine odor from carpets, furniture and things like that," I stated, then waited for the reply.
"Really?! Well, I think we could all use that!" The Judge replied with the other members in the room smiling and nodding their heads.

All I could think at that moment was that I am in an official Broward County Courthouse and here I am talking about PetPeePee and the Judge is genuinely interested!
And the shocks didn't stop there!  After exiting the room to await the list of dismissed or chosen jurors, one of the other jurors approached me and asked, "Does it really work and what is the website?"
I stated it really does work unlike anything else in the market and how remarkable the system really is. I told him the website (PetPeePee.com) and went on my way.

Thankfully I was dismissed later on but I will always remember how my first time at jury duty was very interesting and even Judges have dogs/cats that urinate in their home, who knew.

FAQ About Urine and PetPeePee System

Q: Is there a difference between dog urine and cat urine?
A: Yes! There is a big difference. Dogs pee all over, whereas, cats pee along the wall
repeatedly in the same area. Due to this difference in habits, cat owners should expect several visits to ensure our guarantee.
Q: Why do you use cold water?
A: PetPeePee developed and built a new machine that work with the minerals and cold water safely. Urine can be removed only with cold water not hot
water (steam).
Q: When you clean the wall-to-wall carpeting, do you clean only the urine spot or the entire carpet?
A: PetPeePee System cleans the entire room, while concentrating on the urine spots.
Q: After I've discovered that my cat peed along the corner of the wall, can I remove the padding and replace my carpet?
A: No. Before installing a new carpet we recommend to clean the sub flooring and the base board. Since cats pee/spray along the wall, some of the urine is absorbed deep into the drywall, baseboard and the flooring. Removal of the urine odor, completely, is available with PetPeePee System and guarantees that the urine odor is gone forever.

Cleaning and Removing Cat Urine Odor

  • There are times when cats do not use their litter box. In some cases the cat will use the sofa, the love seat or even the mattress in place of the litter box.

  • The most common problem is when cats pee on the carpet along the wall.

  • Customers mainly see the urine on the wall or on the carpet. However, the problem lies deep inside the base boards, the sub floor and the dry wall.
Because the urine is deeper and more dispersed, this process is more extensive.

The process of removing cat urine involves cleaning the carpet, sub floor and the dry wall. In this case, the PetPeePee System offers several combinations of cleaning. Some processes may take more than one visit. Only a PetPeePee System certified technician can determine what process is best for you.

Some Dogs and Cats find the landing an excellent place to mark their territory.

carpet and sub floor (wood), permanently.
* This cleaning process may take more than one visit to ensure the complete removal of urine odor.

Oriental Rugs and Area Rugs

Home Depot or Iran? Persia or Wal Mart? Department store or India? Where did your rug come from? If it came from Department stores or Asia is there a difference?

The answer is Yes!
The difference is between Area Rugs and Oriental Rugs.
In this post we will talk about the difference between synthetic rugs and hand made, wool oriental rugs.
Note: Some department stores do sell high quality Oriental Rugs.

How To Tell If Your Oriental Rug Is AuthenticOriental Rug

  •  The wool on the back is sewn on, not glued

  • If it is made from real wool, cotton, or silk.

  • If the rug was dyed with vegetable dye or another high quality dye.
(How you can tell: If the colors have ever run, or stained your hard floor then your Oriental Rug is made with dye.)

  • If it was hand made with many details. (How you can tell if it is hand made: the lines are not straight and the details are not symmetrical.)

  • Some Oriental Rugs are machine made, in this case, the tag on the back will describe the material of the rug and the quality.

How To Tell If It's An Area RugArea Rug

  • The canvas backing is glued on to the back of the rug, typically on the back of wool.

  • The backing is latex, meaning when you rub your hand across it, it feels like hard glue.

  • The rug is made from synthetic fiber. When buying the rug, the tag should describe the material.

  • Some rugs are even made from recycled materials, or a combination of synthetic material and wool. This also means, the colors will not run.

  • Mainly, Area Rugs are synthetic, and are typically machine made.

The Worst Kind of Area Rugs In Regards to Pet Accidents

  • Wool Area Rugs with glued canvas' don't handle accidents very well. After constant exposure the glue starts to loosen from the rug and eventually will tear right off. This will also happen with heavy traffic on the rug (which is similar to pounding the rug with a hammer) and direct sun light. These conditions will destroy your rug over time.

  • Burlap (Sisal) Area Rugs are not designed to get wet and therefore when pet accidents gets on the rug, it makes a permanent stain.

Padding

If you have an Area Rug or Oriental Rug, padding is very important. If you have a high quality Oriental Rug a special, high durable padding is a must. If you want to maintain your Oriental Rug for generations to come, padding is important. (PetPeePee offers a special padding such as this. Please visit our website for more information. PetPeePee.com/OrientalRugs/AreaRugs)
By using padding, the colors will not run onto the hard floor and it will protect any damage caused by heavy traffic.
It is important for both Oriental Rugs and Area Rugs to have padding so the rug will not slip and cause any injuries.
Tip: The popular, rubber waffle shaped padding is not a good padding because it leaves stains on wood and marble flooring. It is also not a durable  for your rugs.

When Pee Gets on Your Oriental Rug or Area Rug.

Dogs and Cats commonly pee on Oriental Rugs or Area Rugs simply because it is a soft place that reminds them of grass or litter. When houses have hard floors pets will tend to pee on any soft surface because they don't like to have any urine splash back onto their legs. If you want to eliminate the urine odor and remove any stain/discoloration, consider using PetPeePee System. Our product and system is designed to treat the urine without affecting the condition of the Oriental Rug or Area Rug. There are several options as to how to clean the rug. If you are local we can pick up the rug to our 4,000 sq. ft. warehouse and deliver it to you 100% odor free. If you are out of our region you can ship the rug to us and we can send it back with no urine odor, guaranteed! If you have a couple of spots, we have our Do It Yourself Cleaning Product that is made from naturally blended minerals from the Dead Sea and will provide you with excellent results and will never make colors run.
Tip: Never scrub the rug! Always clean with the nap, never against, and in the same direction. Otherwise you can ruin the nap and create an uneven pattern in your rug that may be permanent.

Home Alone

School has started, work begins, and another summer vacation is over.

After hours of being away from home our pets are beyond excited to see us, however, the past couple of hours have been spent alone.

When pets are stuck at home all alone, two things typically tend to happen, they destroy the house and tear apart anything they choose, or they pee in different areas of the house.Betty and Sally

Lets Talk About Dogs!

Dogs are very active and like to be fully engaged for long periods of time. When they are left alone they have nothing else to do but cause chaos by tearing things apart, like our favorite pair of shoes, or our $75  pillow. Or, they decide to make the house their own personal back yard, which, who can blame them? A solution to this problem is putting the dogs in a secluded area, which can be good and bad. The good thing is your personals are protected from both destruction and urination. However, the dogs are prohibited from running around and releasing energy so when you come home and let them out, they are full of energy and are hard to calm down.

When you come home try to make a routine of taking your dog out for longer than 10 minutes. (If you really want to release his/her energy let them play outside for 20 minutes, remember they've been locked up for hours.) When they pee outside, reward them by giving him/her a treat, toy, or give some extra love.

Something to Calm The Nerves

Somethings Mr. Martin, Inventor and Owner of PetPeePee System, has come up with that will help with these certain scenarios:

  • Give your dog one or several chew toys that are durable, that way they can spend a couple of hours trying to tear it apart.

  • Give your dog a large bone to chew on that will provide him/her a chew toy plus a delicious treat.

  • If your dog is a roamer of the house, hide a treat somewhere that will engage his/her  inner hunter.

If you have hard floors the best option is to place a Wee Wee pad somewhere that is convenient for the dog. Also, place an old towel under the Wee Wee pad so the pee doesn't seep through onto the hard floor. If the pee has seeped onto the hard floor our Do It Yourself Hard Floor product will provide excellent results to remove the urine odor.

 cat
Little Miss Kitty

Cats are almost like humans. They need attention, independence and a soft place to lay their heads. Cats, unlike dogs, do not need much to entertain them. They typically lay around and play with soft things such as toy balls and light, feathery things. However, something the cat does need is to feel very loved, otherwise they get jealous and vindictive. If they feel neglected they have a habit of peeing to get your attention. Here are some tips to make sure your little princess (or prince) doesn't pee around the house.

  • Change the litter box every morning, this is much better than at night time, because it will provide a fresh litter box for her/him to pee. Remember leave a little bit of the old litter in the box so he/she can smell the old odor. Cats are animals of territory and prefer to pee in an area they've peed before or where another cat has peed.

  • When you get home, pay extra attention to your cat so they don't feel ignored or unloved.

Something For The Pee

If you have carpet, oriental rugs or furniture, your best option is to LEAVE THE PEE ALONE. Do not try and use cleaning products that contain soap or bleach! To test your product if it has soap shake it with cap on, then remove the cap. If the bottle is suddenly alive with soap bubbles, then the product contains soap. If you can apply the soap and remove it effectively then proceed, however most people do not have this ability. A comparison we give is if you wash your hair and don't rinse the soap out, after a while the soap becomes a magnet for dirty things.

If you want to remove the urine and the odor you want to use a product that will KILL the bacteria that causes the odor. PetPeePee System does not contain deodorizer, soap or enzymes that mask the urine odor. Our naturally blended minerals from the Dead Sea will give you the results you've been looking for.
