When Using Steam or Dry Cleaning

Cats are very sneaky, smart and creatures of instincts. Unlike dogs, cats usually have a reason for peeing in certain areas of the house. Of course the cat could just decide to pee somewhere for no reason at all, but most cats have a hidden meaning in their peeing habits. Read into your cat's pee and find out what your little princess (or prince) is really telling you.

"Did My Cat Pee On My Drapes ?!" 

There are several reasons for your cat peeing/spraying on your drapes. The most common reasons for cats peeing: something's wrong with the litter box.

•  First and foremost, if you have two cats, you need two litter boxes, if you 10 cats you need 10 litter boxes. Cats DO NOT like to share (in most cases).


• Also, when cats use the litter box they demand privacy just like humans. So, putting a litter box near a door, or in an open hallway is unacceptable!  Have you ever noticed that if you look at your cat while they're doing their business they look at you like, "What the heck are you looking at?" This is because they want their privacy. Therefore, putting your cat's litter box in a secluded corner or enclosed area is most preferred.


• Cats are very instinctive and territorial. Still having their primal instincts they prefer to pee in an area where they have, or another cat has peed. So, when you go to clean your cat's litter box, always leave some of the old litter in the box so they're reminded that it's their's, plus they feel more comfortable.  Also, try avoid using a plastic bag underneath the litter, leaving a good portion of the old litter is better than removing all of it.

• Some people are cat and dog lovers. More often than not the cat and dog actually get along or the dog just loves to play fight with the cat.  In one case that Mr. Martin noticed in one of his customer's home is that the cat's litter box was located right next to the dog crate! So, sometimes when the cat went to pee, the dog would bark, get excited and scare the cat away. So, instead of getting scared away by barks she would rather pee in a more tranquil location, the sofa.
